OUR MISSION SET
VASAR uses our membership's vast collective experience to self train and self certify our pilots and flight officers. Through our constant training, drilling and practice we can provide any of these capabilities to requesting agencies.
AERIAL SEARCH
Our specialty is using our helicopter and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) assets to search for, locate and facilitate rescue of lost persons and those in distress.
RAPID DEPLOYMENT
VASAR has the ability to forward deploy with our mobile command center to an area close to the search thus reducing transit time between our home base. This maximizes our time overhead during a search.
LAW ENFORCEMENT
Our membership includes many sworn law enforcement officers from various backgrounds. This gives is the ability to coordinate more effectively with law enforcement agencies. We can provide aerial observation for a SWAT call; or search for missing persons, fugitives and convicts on the loose.
INTEROPERABILITY TRAINING
Being able to work alongside partner agencies is crucial. We invite your agency to participate in training exercises alongside VASAR to enhance readiness for all who participate.
MARITIME SEARCH
Searching along waterways or over large bodies of water is a daunting task. Using our helicopter crews we can cover a large area of water quickly to locate lost vessels or to check out potential persons in distress.
WILDFIRE SURVEY
Wildfires have the ability to spread at an alarming rate. Having a helicopter overhead can give the ground-based firefighting apparatus an edge on beating the flames.
COMMAND & CONTROL
Providing eyes in the sky can help emergency managers, event planners and public safety personnel with constant up-to-date information.
PROJECT LIFESAVER
Supporting Project Lifesaver International is one of our core missions. Patients that tend to wander are outfitted with tracking bracelets so that when they go missing they can be found quickly and hopefully unharmed.
24 HOUR ALERT
VASAR stands ready 24 hours a day on weekends and can be ready to deploy on a mission within a few minutes to an hour on weekdays.
